Donna Schultz captured my attention immediately while bringing the story of Ruth to life. She really has a way with words, which allowed this age-old story to suddenly have a very profound impact on me. Can I tell you, I felt as though I wanted to shout out "Amen!" more than I think I ever have while reading a book. I found it so easy to relate to, particularly during the present unemployment storm my family is enduring and the difficult and often unappealing choices we've had to make. All these choices had risks and have been painful as we continue to wait faithfully upon the Lord's timing. The words of this book were encouraging and a necessary reminder that we are each unique, important, loved, and accepted in the eyes of our Lord. God is aware of what trials we face. He is actively and lovingly working out all of the details of our circumstances, for our ultimate good. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone looking to for something wholesome and inspiring to read.

I am a person who has never been "bible-driven"- I know a passage here and there, some psalms, etc. When Donna Schultz's book "Lessons From Ruth" became available, I frankly started reading, not knowing what to expect and how it might impact my life. From the start, I was drawn in by the author's warm, compassionate teaching style- it was as if we were sitting in her living room, discussing these incredible events of so many years ago, and relating them to our presentime issues and struggles. I really believe that Donna has "lived" many of these passages in her own life- I felt comforted by her simple straighforward non-judgemental approach. It is possible to pick thru any chapter and find an incredible paralell in our everyday life. It is the kind of book that you will want to go back to , to reference and to meditate on.
